Audio Book on

"Throat and tongue swollen with thirst, green eyes blazing now with new ecstasy, he knew he had it. He would acquire it, would recognize that heady height upon which he had elected to stand. Prior to him lay the Excellent Secret! The Secret which had produced a dead race rule the Universe! And that Secret would be his, Fanner Marston's, and Fanner Marston would be the ruler, the new ruler, the arbiter of destiny for all the Universe"!

This is 1 of 4 pulp fiction stories in the audiobook "The Fantastic Secret" that Galaxy Press Publishing has recreated with exceptional voice talents. Narrated by tv and film actor Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon five, Tron), also starring Lynsey Bartilson (cartoon character Tuesday X on Nickelodeon), R.F. Daley (Broadway musical Cats), Jim Meskimen (Apollo 13, The Grinch), Josh R. Thompson (comedian) and Chuck White.

The Good Secret is a story about a boy who was raised as a slave who became a petty thief as a teen. At full adulthood he masters his own craft and crew but is also cursed with utter madness and delusion as he pursues being master of the whole universe! This pulp fiction classic was initially published in 1943 and is regarded as timeless entertainment in the series of L. Ron Hubbard's pulp fiction stories. Bruce Boxleitner does a masterful job of bringing this robust story to life. I give it a thumbs up on the storyline and presentation. Some of these stories are tough to obtain so my hats off the Galaxy Press for bringing back these stories.

Included in the audiobook are 3 even more stories. Second in the line up is "Space Can", which is a tale about the space navy ship "Menace" that has action scenes not as opposed to the early 1900s cannon blasting sword wielding navy battles but in this case against an intelligent race from Saturn. It really is science fiction with a plausible story line.

Subsequent is the story "The Beast". This Sci-Fi is about a beast from Venus that ought to be eliminated! Ginger Cranston, a Remarkable white hunter from earth, need to endure the hardships on his journey to killing the beast. Again the narration and action are initial rate and have my thumbs up!

The last story is "The Slaver" a tale about the hero, Kree Lorin, becoming captured by slave traders. He outwits his captors and frees the peasant girl from Palmerton, Dana, and also regains his ship.

In all the audiobook is a two cd package and runs roughly two hours and twenty minutes of Science fiction adventure with realistic characters. Galaxy Press has carried out a fine job with the voice talents and cinema high quality sound effects. It is enjoyable listening entertainment reminiscent of the old radio days and worth visiting.
